Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Jotter mobile app and related services.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

1. Using Jotter

By using Jotter, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity carried out through it. You must provide accurate information where required and must not attempt to access another person’s account.

Jotter supports guest use as well as email, Apple and Google authentication. Some features may require a signed-in account.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you save in Jotter. You give us only the limited permission needed to host, process, sync and display that content back to you so we can operate the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you save or share through Jotter does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.

4. Free and Plus plans

Jotter may offer Free and paid Plus plans. The current Free plan may limit the total number of stored Jots. Jotter Plus may provide benefits such as unlimited Jots, removal of ads, additional resurfacing frequency and tag filtering.

Features, limits and pricing may change in future versions. We will not retroactively charge you without the purchase confirmation required by your app store.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription charges, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled under the rules of the store through which you subscribed.

Deleting your Jotter account or uninstalling Jotter does not automatically cancel an active store subscription. You must cancel the subscription through your Apple or Google subscription settings.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Jotter reliable, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons.

8. Backups and exports

Jotter includes tools that may allow you to export your saved Jots. You are responsible for keeping any independent copies you consider important. Although we take reasonable steps to protect stored data, no online service can guarantee against every possible data-loss event.

9. Account suspension or termination

We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect Jotter, other users or third parties, or where there is serious or repeated misuse of the service. You may stop using Jotter at any time and may delete your account through the app.

10. Third-party services

Jotter relies on services provided by third parties, including Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, Resend, AdMob and Cloudflare. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply to their services.

11. Disclaimers

Jotter is a general knowledge and note-resurfacing tool. Content stored or resurfaced through Jotter is not professional medical, legal, financial or other specialist advice. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on information you save.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or loss resulting from your misuse of Jotter.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Jotter changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated terms available before or when they take effect.
